A quick guide submitted by Jackhammer:
/msg NickServ register MAKEUPAPASSWORD EMAILADDRESSHERE
Example: /msg NickServ register SuperPrivateKey Jackhammer@superwoot.jack
You should see a message similar to:
[16:67]to(NickServ) register SuperPrivateKey Jackhammer@superwoot.jack
16:67] from(NickServ) Nickname Jackhammer registered under your account: Jackhammer@*.Core.Exiles-3385E551.wootnet.net
[16:67]from(NickServ) Your password is SuperPrivateKey- remember this for later use.
Remember to use a password that you can/will remember. For security reasons I do not suggest the same password as your Core-Exiles account.
When you connect next you will see:
[16:26]from(NickServ) This nickname is registered and protected. If it is your
[16:26]from(NickServ) nick, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password. Otherwise,
[16:26]from(NickServ) please choose a different nick.
To respond, follow the instructions as stated in the message. Based on my 'password' above I should type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY SuperPrivateKey
[16:26]to(NickServ) IDENTIFY SuperPrivateKey
[16:26]from(NickServ) Password accepted - you are now recognized.
