What are RAIDs and how do they work?

Raids are huge pirate vessels essentially, that are built in the outer systems and then they appear in the inner systems from time to time and pose a challenge to fighter players as they are quite difficult to take down. But it's well worth it to try, as every single sortie you fly against a RAID will brings you credits and XP the moment you or someone else deals the RAID it's final blow.

Depending on how much you took part in killing the RAID, your share of the rewards can be quite handsome. But that is not all that is to be known about RAID's as not only fighters benefit from them, but haulers as well if they are equipped with a salvage cutter that is, as once a RAID is killed a new one will not spawn until the dead husk of the old one is not taken apart by haulers who cut up the RAID into tiny chunk of valuable base resources that they can either sell or use for their own personal needs whatever they may be.
